Orson Welles once almost made a TV show for Desilu; it's a super cool thing. Did you ever see La Jetée, the short that 12 monkeys was based on? Well, clearly it was influenced by this. It was based on a short story by John Collier. The show won a Peabody Award in 1958, the only unsold television pilot ever to do so.
